SVAY CHOCHEB COMMUNE, Kompong Speu Province
Svay Chocheb is a very peaceful commune that gathers 15 villages and over 7 000 people. Located only 100 Km of Phnom Penh, near National Road n#3, it covers an area of 80 km2, surrounded by mountains and beautiful landscapes.

Projects in need of fund raising

- Irrigation work  :  The commune owns 2 sets of reservoir and canals, built during the Khmer Rouge, and currently out-of-use. The rehabilitation of the irrigation system should allow proper farming on 80 to 160 hectares of paddy fields.

- Road construction : The 15 small villages are linked together by 4 roads. One of them gets impossible to cross during the rainy season. The repairing of this road would implement a proper communication, circulation and exchange system in the commune.

- Bridges: On one the main road of the commune, the 2 bridges are partially or totally destroyed. During the rainy season, the area gets flooded, preventing people from circulating normally.

- Commune office: the commune council owns a small piece of land but not enough money to build any infrastructure. Therefore, commune officials currently rents the ground floor of this family house for 10,000.00 Riels a month.

Implemented work

Well digging: 12 wells were dug during the dry seasons of 2002 and 2003, ensuring a nearby source of clean and free water to each one of the15 villages.
