Sheet # 1. From Banteay Meanchey province

Petition thumbprinted by people protesting against the loss of their voting right on Voting Day

We citizens living in (hand written name) village, in (hand written name) commune, in (hand written name) district, in (hand written name) province, with our names and thumbprints below, went to vote on July 27, 2008 but were not able to cast our ballot for one of the following reasons (tick at number...):
1 : I could not find my name on the voter list (disenfranchisement of non-CPP supporters through manipulation of the voter registry long before Voting Day)
2 : My name had been used by somebody else (who had fraudulently voted in my place probably by using a forged 1018 voter identification form)
3 : I was prevented from voting (intimidation, selectively overzealous implementation of regulations reflecting a subtle form of political discrimination, misleading information given to voters identified by CPP local authorities as non-CPP supporters).
Only a portion of the petition is presented here. There are 16 sheets representing 16 provinces, each sheet contains a sample of 25 names and thumbprints. The whole petition with all the names and thumbprints collected is available to any observers at the SRP or HRP Phnom Penh Headquarters and has been shown to independent organizations. See photos of the whole petition
